Shilpa was surrounded by yoga all her life, and in 2003 became an avid practitioner while living in Washington, D.C. Throughout several moves, yoga proved to be a constant in her life. In 2011, after moving to New York City, Shilpa decided to deepen her practice and passion by becoming a 200-hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). Shilpa had the privilege of studying at OM Yoga Center under world-renowned teachers led by Cyndi Lee. There, Shilpa not only learned the basic practice and principles of yoga, but also studied anatomy, yoga philosophy, and meditation. Shilpa also has attended various workshops with leading experts in the field, in addition to assisting in events such as the Yoga Solstice in Times Square and Self Magazine's Workout in the Park. Shilpa teaches Vinyasa yoga to students of all levels who are looking to build strength and flexibility, and learn about proper body alignment within poses. Her down-to-earth approach allows students to feel comfortable, regardless of experience or physical ability.
