Galina Ioffe

Meet Galina! Galina and UNWIND co-owner Aubrey have been practicing together since 2011. Galina has been part of UNWIND since we opened in 2018. Galina specializes in vinyasa yoga, gentle yoga, and alignment-based flow yoga. She started her personal practice in 2003 and began her teacher training in 2016, with additional training in 2017.

 

Galina likes the idea of yoga for everyone and that all people can find something magical in yoga that they can benefit from. She arranges her classes in a playful manner by trying to add some humor and joy to the practice. Galina has a lovely energy and is always eager to learn or absorb something new. Yoga keeps her life intriguing, challenging, interesting, inspiring, and unpredictable! She will carry on to explore the path of yoga by continuing to train, connecting with other people, learning new meditation skills, and being flexible and strong on and especially off the floor. Most importantly, she will keep sharing her knowledge, skills, and energy with other people and stay positive! 

 

You can find Galina in the studio on Mondays from 9:30 to 10:45 AM for her Align and Flow for the Morning class.

Favorite Yoga Pose: Salamba Sarvangasana (shoulder stand) 

What do you love most about yoga? 

The infinity of yoga. Everyone will find what he is looking for: meditation, breathing, physical postures, relaxation, strength, and flexibility. Each pose also has many aspects and sides and depth.

What is some advice for those who have been practicing yoga for a while?  

If you are a regular practitioner, start being more in the moment. Instead of moving from pose to pose, concentrate on a particular pose and feel this pose, feel every muscle working, hear your own breathing.

What do you think makes a good yoga teacher? 

Self practice, and the art of observation and the ability to recognize the needs of the student and adjust and modify the poses for them.

Do you have additional certifications? 

I have certificates in Restorative yoga, yoga for wellness which includes gentle and accessible yoga, and Reiki first degree certification.

If you could be an animal, what animal would it be? 

A dog; loyal, graceful and compassionate!
